BC Level 1 First Aid Kit Requirements

This first aid kit holds the minimum required content that an employer needs to provide to:

• Shift of 6 – 50 workers in a workplace with low risk of injury and that is more than 20 minutes surface travel time away from a hospital. ***
• Shift of 11 – 50 workers in a workplace with low risk of injury and that is 20 minutes or less surface travel time away from a hospital.***
• Shift of 2 – 15 workers in a workplace with moderate risk of injury and that is more than 20 minutes surface travel time away from a hospital. ***
  
• Shift of 6 – 25 workers in a workplace with moderate risk of injury and that is 20 minutes or less surface travel time away from a hospital.***
• Shift of 2 – 10 workers in a workplace with high risk of injury and that is more than 20 minutes surface travel time away from a hospital. ***
• Shift of 2 – 15 workers in a workplace with high risk of injury and that is 20 minutes or less surface travel time away from a hospital.***

** To complete WorkSafeBC requirements for a Level 1 Kit, 1 blanket is required. Available as an add on option with our Level 1 Kits.
*** WorkSafeBC requirements for your workplace, in addition to a first aid kit, may include a minimum level of transportation, a first aid room or dressing station and first attendants with the appropriate level of certification.
